I’ve been a little slow on the updates not because nothing is being done, it just isn’t very exciting. Time for a list, I suppose.

Since my last Dumpster Fire update the following has been done:

Fixed windshield wipers

Fixed windshield sprayers

Fixed loose alternator connection

Fixed gas tank leaks (2x)

Replaced the Oxygen sensor

Changed engine oil

Changed transmission oil

Re-aligned shift linkage (3x) (no effect)

Cleaned injectors

Installed oil pressure sender (gauge)

Repaired driver’s seat (seat base replacement)

Got a tetanus booster (see above)

Installed new tires

Replaced a lot of bulbs

Fixed the sunroof

Fixed two interior lights

Adjusted brake light switch (Brake lights turn off now)

Installed new battery tie down

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

All in all, we’re in pretty good shape. What I haven’t mentioned, for fear of jinxing it, is my plan is to drive this thing on the annual Saab Club of Oklahoma Talimena scenic byway drive this Saturday. The drive is approximately 400 miles, round trip.

Yes, all of this in a car that has no fifth gear and hasn’t been on the road in a very long time.

At least there will be other Saab people! Looks like around 40 people expected.

Wish me luck!

That’s a pretty good list there! Hope all goes well.

What was the source(s) of your fuel leaks? Bad sealing rings?

To be fair, it was on a flatbed a few weeks ago ... progress!

One was easy: The former mechanic didn’t tighten up the fuel pump mount and so that was leaking.

The second was the electrical connection for the feed pump. The O-ring/ gasket for that went all goopy.

Hoping those are the only two!

Having a road trip/event planned is an awesome way to motive yourself to finish a project. And even is you miss the first one. Find another.

Good luck, I once went to a Saab only car show several years ago. I give you a ton of credit for keeping a 80's era Saab alive. My parents had a 1979 Saab 99 LE coupe, and a 86 red Saab 900 16 Valve S edition. I wish I could’ve saved both of them now. Post pics of this road trip please!

This will not be the first one I’ve missed (if I do) haha.
